How We Can Help
Physical therapy sessions at ActivePT involve taking a detailed history of your injury and response to previous treatments. We continually reassess changes in your joints and muscles to help guide treatment, and check your response to each type of treatment. We will educate you about the anatomy involved, impairments, proposed treatments, and your care plan. Exercises are progressed each visit based on your reassessments. Most importantly, we will work with you to learn your goals so those goals can drive your therapy sessions and progress.
Our treatment plans are designed to not only alleviate neck pain but prevent it in the future. We will help to:
- Educate you on body mechanics that may be contributing to your neck pain including: poor posture with static positions of standing, sitting and sleeping. We may perform an ergonomic assessment of your work station to help decrease or eliminate potential daily stressors to your spine
- Utilize hands-on techniques to address your specific muscle tightness, joint hypo/hypermobilities, and nerve tension which may be impairing your movements
- Provide a specialized home exercise program to address your specific weaknesses, tightness and muscle impairments. Many times the exercise program will look at you as a whole, not just your injury, as address other contributors to your health and wellness
