Dry Needling, also called Myofacial Trigger Point Dry Needling, is an anatomically-based technique used to relieve muscle pain. Our licensed therapists have completed specialized training to become certified in the technique of dry needling.

How it Works

During a session the therapist will insert thin-filament needles into areas of the body called “trigger points”. The therapist may then slightly move the needle to cause a Local Twitch Response (LTR) which resets the neurological feed back loop thus causing relaxation of muscle, a reduction of chemical irritation and improved flexibility. This release in pressure results in decreased pain long term. There may be a some pain when the needles are inserted however this varies from person to person and is dependent on the severity of your symptoms. Most patients report that any soreness from the procedure dissipates with in hours and can easily be manage with the usage of over the counter pain medication. The relief becomes noticeable a few hours after the session with the initial pain that they came in for disappearing as soon as two weeks after they started dry needling.

Dry needling is known to help with:

  • Muscle spasms
  • Headaches
  • Lower back, shoulder, or knee pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Tennis & Golfers Elbow

    Get Help With Dry Needling

Dry needling is a form of myofascial trigger point release used to help relieve muscle pain. “Dry” simply means we are not injecting anything into your muscle. Often, electrical stimulation is applied through the needles, creating repeated muscle twitching, to help further reduce your pain.
