Great News! Starting January 1, 2015, Mayo Clinic Health Solutions will designate ActivePT as a Tier 1 provider. This means Mayo Clinic employees and covered family members can access ActivePT’s care under your in-network benefits! Your coverage for physical therapy services will now be the same whether you receive treatment at Mayo Clinic or ActivePT. This change also gives Mayo Clinic employees access to additional services, like warm water aquatic therapy. Patients are scheduled based on urgency and can typically be scheduled within 2 business days at any of our seven locations.
Do you need a referral?
Typically not. The Mayo Clinic employee’s insurance coverage has not historically required a doctor’s order for therapy and we do not anticipate this will change. This allows you to access physical therapy for conditions that don’t necessitate additional testing and helps save you money.
Do I need a physical therapist or a doctor?
Just ask for a free 15 minute appointment to meet with a therapist to discuss your condition. This is a community service we provide to help triage your condition. If you simply need some information, we provide that for free. If you need to see a doctor or need more testing, we can help with the referral. We work closely with the physicians at Mayo Clinic to ensure you get the care you need. We even have close relationships with surgeons and can refer you to an orthopedist if necessary.
Insurance can be confusing.
Don’t feel like you need to figure it out on your own. If you have questions about your insurance coverage for physical therapy, just call. We will help get your questions answered prior to your first visit. Call us at 507-322-3460 to get your questions answered or to schedule an appointment at any one of our seven locations.
