Sam completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota in 2019. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Coaching with a track and field emphasis, as he also competed as a thrower on the team. He has been a member of the ActivePT team since 2020.
Sam completed an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency at Mayo Clinic. He then completed a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy (AAMT). He currently teaches Dry Needling Continuing Education Courses through AAMT and is the Assistant Director of the AAMT OMPT Fellowship Program. He is also Registered in Musculoskeletal Sonography (RMSK) to better assist his patients with finding the cause of their pain with imaging mixed with a full physical therapy evaluation.
Sam combines advanced diagnostics with diagnostic ultrasound imaging, hands-on treatment with spinal manipulation and dry needling, and progressive lifting to assist his patients in meeting their goals. His areas of interest include dry needling, diagnostic ultrasound, spine, headaches and arthritis. Sam lives in Oronoco with his wife Kaitlyn and yellow lab Bentley. He enjoys activities such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, weight training, hiking, and a variety of other sports.
