Melissa received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (2004) and her Master’s in Physical Therapy (2001) from Washington University in St Louis. Prior to this she received her Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL. Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. She comes to Active PT with 17 years experience at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago and 3 years at Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester.
Melissa has extensive experience treating patients with a wide variety of orthopedic conditions. She prefers a hands-on manual therapy approach as the foundation to care plan. Her areas of strength are sports injuries, hip, knee, shoulder, ankle, and post-operative rehabilitation. Melissa’s goal of therapy is to help patients get back to the activities they love.
Melissa grew up and lives in Rochester with her husband and kids. She is a graduate of Mayo High School where she ran track. In her free time, she enjoys boating on the Mississippi River with her family, running, pilates, and during the winter Skiing and Snowmobiling.
