Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Kara Whitson, DPT, CSCS, graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Wingate University in North Carolina in 2024.   She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Greensboro College in 2019. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  During her college career, Kara was captain of the women’s lacrosse team at Greensboro College.  She joined the ActivePT team in 2025.

Kara is passionate about helping patients who suffer from shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, sports-related injuries, and those who are rehabilitating after surgery. She provides personalized, evidence-based care that supports each patient’s journey, whether it’s meeting functional goals, managing chronic conditions, or excelling in athletic performance.

Kara lives in Rochester with her boyfriend, her dog (Duke), and two cats (Kiza and Eva).  She enjoys lifting weights, running, and spending time with friends and family.
