Jake earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri in 2012. He played football at Winona State University and graduated in 2009 with his undergraduate degree in Movement Science. He also coached football at Winona Cotter. Jake started at ActivePT in 2012 during a clinical internship and became board certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2018.
In addition to staying current on neck, back, and headache research, Jake has completed over 700 hours of continuing education since graduation. He has focused his continuing education in the areas of dry needling (DN), spinal manipulation, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), management of chronic pain and headaches, and principles of strength training.
Jake takes a very hands-on approach to therapy. His areas of interest include neck/back pain treatment, treatment of jaw pain and headaches, post-surgical rehabilitation, and sports injury rehabilitation.
Jake lives in Rochester with his wife and three sons. He enjoys staying active with camping, running, biking, and weight training. As a Rochester area native, he also enjoys keeping up with local sports.
