Scott Nelson, MSPT, FDN, TPI Cert., graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota in 2001. He completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology at The College of St. Scholastica in 1998.  During his college career, Scott played hockey for The College of St. Scholastica.  He joined the ActivePT team in 2025.

Scott is passionate about caring for athletes and helping individuals recover after surgery. He feels fortunate to assist high school and collegiate athletes in rehabilitating their injuries. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with ten different orthopedic surgeons and numerous orthopedic physician assistants. He uses manual therapy techniques along with corrective and therapeutic exercises to treat a variety of non-operative musculoskeletal conditions. Scott believes that each patient and condition is unique, and he emphasizes the importance of listening to each patient’s story to design a treatment plan that aligns with their individual goals.

Scott lives in Owatonna with his wife, Brenda, 6 children, and 2 dogs. He coaches hockey in the winter and enjoys playing golf and camping with his family. He grew up on the lakes in Northern Minnesota and enjoys spending time on the water.
